PRINCE AND HIS JEHOVAH WITNESS' BULLSHIT

I am actually very surprised that while the gay marriage issue is still hot in the country, that Prince as come out stating that,

"God came to earth and saw people sticking it wherever and doing it with whatever, and he just cleared it all out. He was, like, 'Enough."

These are words coming from a man who wrote many sexually charged music and lyrics (erotic city, darlin' nikki, head, sister) for most of his career, had married an underage girl (she was 16 at the time and divorced her just as quickly), dressed in some rather gender-bending roles, and has fucked both male and female partners most of his life. What an idiot.

THE DAY OF ENPOWERMENT FOR ALL GAY FOLK EVERYWHERE

Today was the most empowering unification experience I had the pleasure of being a part of.
Nationwide, protests against PROP 8 (funded by the Mormon church and conservative religious right) were held around the country and I had the chance to be part of the anger that many gay folk feel here in San Francisco and around the country. I could feel the emotional charge of the rally.

This is what gay pride SHOULD be about.

I AM HAPPY

I was thinking to myself the other night that despite the rough start out here coming from all sides and the setbacks, I am very happy. I really am. Everything happens for a reason.

WE SHALL OVERCOME.

Proposition 8 was passed last night. So what. To every hate monger, to every religious hypocrite and bigot, just like the civil rights movement of the 1960's which paved the way for BARAK OBAMA to become a symbol of race unity in this country, WE SHALL OVERCOME.

HISTORY WAS MADE ON NOVEMBER 4TH, 2008

Barak Obama is now the 44th president of the United States and the first African American to the highest office of this great nation. I am proud I voted for this man.

YOUR CIVIC DUTY TO VOTE

It's time that the corrupt, hypocritical, and thieving political GOP machine is finally removed from office along with the crooks that paved the way for the most costly theft in the history of the world. I cast my vote this morning to OBAMA. I think its time the United States chooses a minority to unite and lead this nation. It is long overdue.
Still, it bothers me that in our gay society there are those out there that have voted for Mcain knowing full well he is part of the Bush administration's bad policies. It's as simple as racism. Hard to believe that in the 21rst century with all the education and equal rights that we have fought for, there are those out there that still hold these deep seeding distrust towards someone just because of the color of their skin.

Have we not overcome this? I actually was reading on Michael Moore's website a few months ago an article about a Vietnam veteran who is feeling the sting of 8 years of the republican controlled government. He spent 25 years working as a machinist only to see his job gone, and to further add insult to injury, the man he voted for in 2000 and 2004, betray him and his state of Ohio. He made one comment that was honest but hit me: "I'm trying to get it around my head that I'll be voting for a black man." WOW. We have a long way to go still.

CONSIDERATION.....

I can't believe that in another 6 months it will be a year that Vic and I have moved from old New England to out here in the Bay Area on the peninsula 10 minutes just outside from San Francisco. The other night while we were watching a movie, Vic asked me if I want to move back east, New York city specifically.

I was stunned. But I am thinking about it. If the job market does not improve here where I can't find more permanent work, I told Vic then let's do it.

I'm not going to attack SF. I LOVE the city. It's a magical place that I am slowly beginning to know. Unfortunately for me I don't enjoy going into it other than for work or seeing my friends. San Francisco does not have a nighlife compared to that of New York. In fact, NO CITY in the world does. While some may argue that there are more artists and creative people in SF, I tend to disagree compared to NYC. The energy is NY is way fast-paced which I'm used to and I miss it.

San Francisco is 750,000 people while New York city is 8 million. There is NO comparison.

We're still deciding, so who knows what will happen. I let Vic know that IF I decide to stay here in the Bay Area and he decides to go back east, then it will mean the end of us but I want him to be happy. He loves New York, for him it is where he feels most himself.

New York for me is and ALWAYS will be my home.
