As a first generation Latino/Arab American:

Watching a black man become the leader of the greatest nation in the world that I love, history has been made. The next 4 years I hope will be profound for not just all minorities, but for us gay folk as well. The 1960's was when the black civil rights movement took center stage when Dr. Martin Luther King made his speech.

Now we have a black man as our leader

1969 is when the Stonewall riots was the beginning of history for us gay folk. Although our struggle for acceptance has been hard with fight after fight at every turn remember that we are progressing. PROP 8 is just another rut that we will have overturned.

The bigots in this country are ever increasingly becoming the minority.

WE SHALL OVERCOME.
