Facebook is an excellent publisher's platform even though it is considered a social network. It still amazes me that this network has become the central hub for me even more so than my blog. Anyhow, I posted something on the status update reflecting this week.
it's been an interesting week: going a few times into S.F. for work-related issues, some exploring of the city, then talking to friends and reaching mutual understanding, then doing some hardcore research, reconnecting with the few family members I have, and finally being happy with who I am.
I was surprised when several users including one in particular decided to respond to me privately:
Facebook User: Hi Joe your status is interesting - its hard work being happy with you are i find - how did you get there ? Hugs my friendSent via Facebook Mobile
ME: being happy with who you are is being able to look at yourself in the mirror HONESTLY, accepting that the mistakes you made in the past you learned from to make things right in the present and being able to move forward knowing that each day is a new day with new opportunities being presented to you.As long as you can look in the mirror, answer to yourself and God (whatever higher being you believe in), and be OK, you're to be OK. ;)
Facebook User: Thank you Joe for reminding me -i have been going through a really hard time lately - yes i believe in God and i do mirror work on a regular basis - i do however wrestle with myself and my personal demons like every other guy i suppose - thanks for your words - hugs
It is a wonderful feeling to be self-aware of who you are and what you stand for and believe in. Don't let anyone ever try to take that away from you.
