This shot was taken by Rob Wilson over Stonehenge Aotearoa, a replica of Stonehenge built in the Wairarapa countryside, approximately 10 minutes’ drive from the town of Carterton, New Zealand. Stonehenge Aotearoa is a full-scale working adaptation of Stonehenge, the stone monument built on Salisbury Plain in England.

Wilson took this image about a year ago for his 365 day project using his Canon MkII with its 16-35mm lens, 30 second exposure at ISO 1600. The light was from the photographer "running about with a bright LED torch and my shutter remote to shoot the shot".

Side note: Just in case any of you were worried about the end of the Mayan calendar – this admin can report that it is currently 1:58am 21st December (UTC+13) 2012 where they are. It is night-time and the summer solstice is tomorrow; there is no burning mass in the sky yet, though the Sun will rise tomorrow morning.

The December solstice is when the Sun reaches its most southerly declination of -23.5 degrees; i.e. when the North Pole is tilted 23.5 degrees away from the Sun. This year, the winter solstice for the Northern Hemisphere and the summer solstice for the Southern Hemisphere will occur at 11:12 a.m. UTC, Friday, 21 December 2012.

"Where The Bears Are" Official Trailer

Where The Bears Are is a light-hearted comedy/mystery web series now available on DVD with a few extras not seen on the web.

I being a "bearish" man loved it, my man was humored by it.

First off, I have to give credit to the cast and crew for a pretty good attempt. This series is a good example of how using the power of the internet is a WONDERFUL thing when you are routinely ignored through the so-called "normal" channels. LOGO? SHOWTIME? Are you listening now?

Let's be honest : no one is trying to win an Oscar or People's Choice Award. But everyone involved in this project was dedicated in seeing it come to life. Personally I think the acting was done pretty well. I don't want to say too much about the story, but I found that the humor, situations and some of the stereotypes cracked me up. I'm not saying that they don't actually happen, but I'm not denying it either hehehehe.

I had a chance to meet 3 of the lead actors when they arrived in the Lone Star saloon in the city to promote the series. They were very nice and welcoming to me and one of the gentlemen was a such a cutie...oh man.....I'll be nice as he is partnered and say that he is very gracious, loves his fans, appreciates every one of them for the support.....but he is so damn CUTE!!!

To the cast and crew of WTBA : Great job guys! Loved it. Want more hehehe. Show your support for Season 2.Pick up the DVD 2 disc set.

Obama Wins the 2012 Election: Obama's Complete Presidential Victory Speech

"America, I believe we can build on the progress we've made and continue to fight for new jobs and new opportunity and new security for the middle class. I believe we can keep the promise of our founders, the idea that if you're willing to work hard, it doesn't matter who you are or where you come from or what you look like or where you love. It doesn't matter whether you're black or white or Hispanic or Asian or Native American or young or old or rich or poor, able, disabled, gay or straight, you can make it here in America if you're willing to try.

I believe we can seize this future together because we are not as divided as our politics suggests. We're not as cynical as the pundits believe. We are greater than the sum of our individual ambitions, and we remain more than a collection of red states and blue states. We are and forever will be the United States of America."-President Barack Obama

Lena Dunham: Your First Time

-MARIA LUISA LANDIN --Hay Que Saber Perder-

When I was a child, my mother used to play the music with this woman's vocals leading. I remember her voice being that of a high soprano opera singer flawlessly performing to the old-school Mexican bolero sound of the 1940s and 50's. I didn't always appreciate this sound, but now that I'm entering the decade of my 40's, I find that I'm enjoying this classic music. It also reminds me of my mom.

Dear Red States.....

This guy makes some interesting points...

"Dear Red States:

We're ticked off at your Neanderthal attitudes and politics and we've decided we're leaving. "Legitimate rape." Sheesh!

We in New York intend to form our own country and we're taking the other Blue States with us.

In case you aren't aware that includes California, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois and the rest of the Northeast.

We believe this split will be beneficial to the nation and especially to the people of the new country of The Enlightened States of America (E.S.A).

To sum up briefly:

You get Texas, Oklahoma and all the slave states.

We get stem cell research and the best beaches.

We get Andrew Cuomo and Elizabeth Warren. You get Bobby Jindal and Todd Akin.

We get the Statue of Liberty. You get OpryLand.

We get Intel and Microsoft. You get WorldCom.

We get Harvard. You get Ole' Miss.

We get 85 percent of America's venture capital and entrepreneurs.

You get Alabama.

We get two-thirds of the tax revenue. You get to make the red states
pay their fair share.

Since our aggregate divorce rate is 22 percent lower than the Christian Coalition's we get a bunch of happy families. You get a bunch of single moms.

Please be aware that the E.S.A. will be pro choice and anti war and we're going to want all our citizens back from Afghanistan at once. If you need people to fight, ask your evangelicals. They have kids they're apparently willing to send to their deaths for no purpose and they don't care if you don't show pictures of their children's caskets coming home.

We wish you success in Afghanistan, and possibly Iran as well, but we're not willing to spend our resources in these sorts of pursuits.

With the Blue States in hand we will have firm control of 80% of the country's fresh water, more than 90% of the pineapple and lettuce, 92% of the nation's fresh fruit, 95% of America's quality wines (you can serve French wines at state dinners) 90% of all cheese, 90 percent of the high tech industry, most of the US low sulfur coal, all living redwoods, sequoias and condors, all the Ivy and Seven Sister schools plus Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Cal Tech and MIT.

With the Red States you will have to cope with 88% of all obese Americans and their projected health care costs, 92% of all US mosquitoes, nearly 100% of the tornadoes, 90% of the hurricanes, 99% of all Southern Baptists, virtually 100% of all televangelists, Rush Limbaugh, Bob Jones University, Clemson and the University of Georgia.

We get Hollywood and Yosemite, thank you.

38% of those in the Red states believe Jonah was actually swallowed by a whale, 62% believe life is sacred unless we're discussing the death penalty or gun laws, 44% say that evolution is only a theory, 53% that Saddam was involved in 9/11 and 61% of you crazy bastards believe you are people with higher morals then we lefties.

We're taking the good weed too. You can have that crap they grow in Mexico.

Papa Sangre Review for iPod Touch 4G + iPhone 4 App Game Test 1st LvL, M...

I've played many games whether they are board, video, card, but this is truly a first : a video game-without video, or better yet, an audio game in which the strategy is to use sound to avoid enemies, find the clues that will lead you out of each area which will lead you closer to the soul to save. It sounds simple enough, but keep in mind other than a visual on-screen display "touch controls" consisting of two feet for "walking" or "running" and an eerie half wheel for "turning" above the feet, you are in a dark underworld where you cannot see anything. Listening, wisdom, patience, and sheer cunning is the only way to survive. I've had dreams where I was walking in an area where I could not see anything beyond three feet in front of me. But unlike this game, there was no sound at all other than my breathing. I think that any person regardless whether they are religious, spiritual or not at all would be spooked playing this. If there were indeed an afterlife, this would be a perfect version of hell. I'm very impressed by the creators. Very well done!

July 4th, 1776. 236 years of U.S. Independence.

"On July 4th, 1776 “…our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal…with certain inalienable rights…with which all human beings are endowed by their Creator and for the protection of which they institute governments, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” Today we celebrate not only our great Nation’s birth but also struggle to ensure that a "government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth," Happy Birthday USA and Happy 4th to all of my fellow Americans!

Independence is the freedom to be who you truly are, choose to live the life you truly want, to think and say what you feel without fear of tyranny, repression, dogma from others without trampling on the rights of other individuals who may or may not share your views.

The fact, in short, is that freedom, to be meaningful in an organized society must consist of an amalgam of hierarchy of freedoms and restraints.  ~Samuel Hendel

He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from opposition; for if he violates this duty he establishes a precedent that will reach himself.  ~Thomas Paine

History does not teach fatalism.  There are moments when the will of a handful of free men breaks through determinism and opens up new roads.  ~Charles de Gaulle

Freedom has its life in the hearts, the actions, the spirit of men and so it must be daily earned and refreshed - else like a flower cut from its life-giving roots, it will wither and die.  ~Dwight D. Eisenhower

Liberty is the possibility of doubting, of making a mistake,... of searching and experimenting,... of saying No to any authority - literary, artistic, philosophical, religious, social, and even political.  ~Ignazio Silone, The God That Failed, 1950

Liberty: One of Imagination's most precious possessions.  ~Ambrose Bierce, The Devil's Dictionary

The patriot's blood is the seed of Freedom's tree.  ~Thomas Campbell

Nothing is more difficult, and therefore more precious, than to be able to decide.  ~Napoleon Bonaparte

Here is my advice as we begin the century that will lead to 2081.  First, guard the freedom of ideas at all costs.  Be alert that dictators have always played on the natural human tendency to blame others and to oversimplify.  And don't regard yourself as a guardian of freedom unless you respect and preserve the rights of people you disagree with to free, public, unhampered expression.  ~Gerard K. O'Neill, 2081

Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves.  ~Abraham Lincoln

I wish that every human life might be pure transparent freedom.  ~Simone de Beauvoir

My definition of a free society is a society where it is safe to be unpopular.  ~Adlai Stevenson, speech, Detroit, 1952

It is easy to take liberty for granted, when you have never had it taken from you.  ~Author unknown, sometimes attributed to M. Grundler

We on this continent should never forget that men first crossed the Atlantic not to find soil for their ploughs but to secure liberty for their souls.  ~Robert J. McCracken

You have freedom when you're easy in your harness.  ~Robert Frost

For what avail the plough or sail, or land or life, if freedom fail?  ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.  ~Thomas Paine

In the truest sense, freedom cannot be bestowed; it must be achieved.  ~Franklin D. Roosevelt

We have to call it "freedom": who'd want to die for "a lesser tyranny"?  ~Mignon McLaughlin, The Neurotic's Notebook, 1960

Freedom is the oxygen of the soul.  ~Moshe Dayan

There are two freedoms - the false, where a man is free to do what he likes; the true, where he is free to do what he ought.  ~Charles Kingsley

Love bondage more than liberty;
Bondage with ease than strenuous liberty.

Freedom means choosing your burden.  ~Hephzibah Menuhin

Most people want security in this world, not liberty.  ~H.L. Mencken, Minority Report, 1956

We feel free when we escape - even if it be but from the frying pan into the fire.  ~Eric Hoffer

Freedom is that instant between when someone tells you to do something and when you decide how to respond.  ~Jeffrey Borenstein

Liberty is always dangerous, but it is the safest thing we have.  ~Harry Emerson Fosdick

Freedom is not enough.  ~Lyndon B. Johnson

Liberty has never come from the government.  Liberty has always come from the subjects of it.  The history of liberty is a history of resistance.  ~Woodrow Wilson

We have enjoyed so much freedom for so long that we are perhaps in danger of forgetting how much blood it cost to establish the Bill of Rights.  ~Felix Frankfurter

O Liberty...! is it well
To leave the gates unguarded?

No man can put a chain about the ankle of his fellow man without at last finding the other end fastened about his own neck.  ~Frederick Douglass, speech, Civil Rights Mass Meeting, Washington, D.C., 1883

Let freedom never perish in your hands.  ~Joseph Addison

Who speaks of liberty while the human mind is in chains?  ~Francis Wright, 1828

Liberty, when it begins to take root, is a plant of rapid growth.  ~George Washington

I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations.  ~James Madison, speech, Virginia Convention, 1788

Is Our Government Not Allowed To Ask Other Countries How THEY Deal With Student Debt?

The American People Are Angry

"The American people are angry. They are angry that they are being forced to live through the worst recession in our lifetimes -- with sky-high unemployment, with millions of people losing their homes and their life savings. They are angry that they will not have a decent retirement, that they can't afford to send their children to college, that they can't afford health insurance and that, in some cases, they can't even buy the food they need to adequately feed their families.
They are angry because they know that this recession was not caused by the middle class and working families of this country. It was not caused by the teachers, firefighters and police officers and their unions who are under attack all over the country. It was not caused by construction workers, factory workers, nurses or childcare workers.
This recession was caused by the greed, recklessness, and illegal behavior on Wall Street. And, what makes people furious is that Wall Street still has not learned its lessons. Instead of investing in the job-creating productive economy providing affordable loans to small and medium-size businesses, the CEOs of the largest financial institutions in this country have created the largest gambling casino in the history of the world.

Four years ago, after spending billions of dollars to successfully fight for the deregulation of Wall Street, the CEOs of the big banks -- JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Goldman Sachs and the others -- went on a losing streak. The enormous bets they made on worthless, complex, and exotic financial instruments went bad, and they stuck the American people with the bill.
Wall Street received the largest taxpayer bailout in the history of the world. But it was not just the $700 billion that Congress approved through the TARP program. As a result of an independent audit that I requested in the Dodd-Frank bill by the non-partisan Government Accountability Office, we now know that the Federal Reserve provided a jaw-dropping $16 trillion in virtually zero-interest loans to every major financial institution in this country, large corporations, foreign central banks throughout the world, and some of the wealthiest people in this country.
And, instead of using this money to provide affordable loans to small businesses, instead of putting this money back into the job-creating productive economy, what have they done? They have gone back to their days of running the largest gambling casino in the world. In other words, they have learned nothing.
The American people are angry because they see the great middle class of this country collapsing, poverty increasing and the gap between the very rich and everyone else grow wider. They are angry because they see this great country, which so many of our veterans fought for and died for, becoming an oligarchy -- a nation where our economic and political life are controlled by a handful of billionaire families.
In the United States today, we have the most unequal distribution of wealth and income since the 1920s. Today, the wealthiest 400 individuals own more wealth than the bottom half of America -- 150 million people.
Today, the six heirs to the Walmart fortune own as much wealth as the bottom 30 percent.
Today, the top 1 percent own 40 percent of all wealth, while the bottom 60 percent owns 2 percent.
Incredibly, the bottom 40 percent of all Americans own just 0.3 percent of the wealth of the country.
According to a new study from the Federal Reserve, median net worth for middle class families dropped by nearly 40 percent from 2007 to 2010. That's the equivalent of wiping out 18 years of savings for the average middle class family.
The distribution of income is even worse. If you can believe it, the last study on this subject showed that in 2010, 93 percent of all new income created from the previous year went to the top one percent, while the bottom 99 percent of people had the privilege of enjoying the remaining 7 percent. In other words, the rich are getting much richer while almost everyone else is falling behind.
Not only is this inequality of wealth and income morally grotesque, it is bad economic policy. If working families are deeply in debt, and have little or no income to spend on goods and services, how can we expand the economy and create the millions of jobs we desperately need? There is a limit as to how many yachts, mansions, limos and fancy jewelry the super-rich can buy. We need to put income into the hands of working families.
A lot of my friends in the Senate talk a whole lot about our $15.8 trillion national debt and our $1.3 trillion deficit. In fact, deficit reduction is a very serious issue and will be one of the major issues of this campaign. Unfortunately, many of my colleagues forget to discuss how we got into this deficit situation in the first place, and how we went from a healthy surplus under President Clinton to record-breaking deficits under Bush.
When we talk about the national debt and the deficit, let us never forget that the current deficit was primarily caused by Bush's unpaid-for wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Imagine that! President Bush and his deficit hawks forgot to pay for two wars which will end up costing us trillions of dollars. It just plain slipped their minds. On top of that, for the first time in American history Bush and his Republican friends decided, during a war, to give out huge tax breaks -- including massive benefits for millionaires and billionaires. Even more importantly, the deficit is the result of a major decline in federal tax revenue because of the high unemployment and business losses that we are experiencing as a result of this recession -- caused by the greed and recklessness of Wall Street. Revenue as a percentage of GDP, at 15.2 percent, is the lowest in more than 60 years.
Despite the causes of the deficit, our Republican (and some Democratic) friends have decided that the best way forward toward deficit reduction is to cut Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, education, food stamps and virtually every other programs of importance to low and moderate income families. We must not allow that to happen.
If we are serious about dealing with the deficit and creating jobs in America, the wealthy are going to have to start paying their fair share of taxes. We also have to end the massive tax loopholes and subsidies that exist for major corporations. (In that regard, Rep. Keith Ellison from Minnesota and I recently introduced legislation that would end all tax breaks and subsidies for the fossil fuel industry). At a time when the United States now spends more money on defense than the rest of the world combined, we also have to cut back on military spending.
Yes, we should deal with the deficit. But not on the backs of the elderly, the children, the sick and the poor!
Most importantly, when we talk about what's happening in America, we have to address the unemployment crisis in this country which now finds 23 million Americans without jobs or who are under-employed. And we know how to do that.
We know that the fastest way to create decent-paying jobs is rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure (roads, bridges, rail, airports, water systems, wastewater plants, deteriorating schools, etc.) We also know that we can create a great deal of employment by transforming our energy system away from foreign oil and coal and into energy efficiency and such sustainable energies as wind, solar, geo-thermal, bio-mass and other clean technologies. We also know that, as our country fights fierce global competition, it is absurd to be laying-off educators and making college unaffordable.

While we continue to do everything we can during the next six months to defeat Republican right-wing extremism, it is also important that we never lose sight of the progressive vision that we are fighting for. If we don't know where we want to go, it will be impossible to get there. Some of the issues that I intend to raise are the following:
Not only must we resist cuts in Social Security, we must lift the cap on taxing higher incomes so that Social Security will be strong for the next 75 years.
Not only must we oppose cuts in Medicare and Medicaid, we must see health care as a right of all and continue the fight for a Medicare for All Single Payer health care system.
Not only must we oppose placing the burden of deficit reduction on the backs of working families, we must demand a progressive tax system in which the wealthy and large corporations start paying their fair share of taxes.
Not only must we oppose cuts in unemployment compensation, we must fight for a jobs program that creates the many millions of jobs our country desperately needs.
Not only must we fight to end disastrous unfettered free trade agreements with China, Mexico, and other low wage countries, we must fight to fundamentally rewrite our trade agreements so that American products, not jobs, are our number one export.
And, not only must we vigorously oppose the war against women, we must fight to end all forms of discrimination and prejudice in this country.
The struggle we are engaged in right now is of pivotal importance for this country. Whether we win or lose will determine the future of America. That struggle is not just for our lives but, more importantly, it is for our children and our grandchildren.
Despair is not an option. I know people get angry, I know they get frustrated, I know they get disgusted. But we don't have the right to give up and turn our backs on our children and grandchildren.
Our job is to simply bring to fruition what the overwhelming majority of the American people want. They want an economy that works for the middle class and working families and not just for the rich. They want everybody in this country to have health care as a right. They want to protect Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. They want to move away from these gross inequalities in income and wealth.
We have the people behind us. They have the money. And at the end of the day, the people will be stronger than the money."

Thank You.

SCOTUS upholds the Mandate to obtain health insurance.

Quote from Emperor Marcus Aurelius

Most likely one of the greatest rulers of one of the greatest empires in the history of the world.

There is NO war on christianity

The reason some of us seem angry is, some of us are. Not with the fact that others hold different beliefs. Angry with the sense of inviolate privilege that they demand in regards to those beliefs. Angry with their insistence on proselytizing, while decrying any criticism, as intolerance. Angry with the attempts to codify those beliefs in civil law, thereby, tyrannically imposing their theocracy on the general public. Go live in a society like Iran, as a Christian, and then you might get an inkling of what many of us feel in our own country.

Who is really on your side? THINK.

Let me explain it to you this way : If I sell you out for my own personal gain, that is betrayal of trust. I just fucked you over. If I sell out my country for my own personal gain, that is called treason. I betrayed my own country. If I ship out my company to China or India leaving communities depending on those jobs to survive completely decimated, that is called business even though it IS treason. That is what our elected officials in cahoots with corporatists have done.

President Obama and the Fight for LGBT Rights

Harvey Milk with boyfriend Scott Smith

After being discharged from the United States Navy, Milk spent many hours taking pictures. Smith was his favorite model; sometimes Milk spent entire rolls of film just taking pictures of Smith.
Also a gay rights activist, Smith was widely considered the muscle behind many of Milk’s endeavors. He organized, created, managed and helped campaign for Milk’s election to public office from 1974 to 1977 and openly supported and helped after Milk was elected.

there's nothing wrong with either of these muscled body types, but for me realistically, the type at the bottom or #2 is what my goal is. The "V" shape would look funny on me. Besides I prefer having size and power over speed and definition. Just my personal preference.

Thank you Mr. President.

‎"I have to tell you that over the course of several years as I have talked to friends and family and neighbors when I think about members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together, when I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that Don't Ask Don't Tell is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a marriage, at a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married."-quote President Barack Obama

"You know, the same people who screamed bloody murder over the Dixie Chicks for daring to criticize the President of the United States are now cheering on Ted Nugent for insinuating he'd like to kill the President of the United States. I guess for them, it really isn't the office that demands respect, as many of them argued at the time. It's not all about patriotism for your country. It's all about the political party of the President. I am I the only one who sees how hypocritical this is?"-quote

letter to my baby sister / carta a mi hermanita....

Despite the almost 20 years of estrangement between you and I and mostly my lack of contact from our family, I've come to realize that not speaking is often best. No matter how hard we try, our views of how we grew up, see people and the world are very different.

I wish we could reconcile our differences, but unfortunately that is simply not going to happen.

I know that you love our father, even our mother despite their failures as parents to us. I never told you to stop loving them. But you ignoring the past of where our father was not present, which he was never there, where he gave absolutely nothing, which he never tried, was hateful to our very existence, and never wanted us, is where you and I strongly disagree, and is where I have the problem.

I don't understand how you can love somebody and pretend that those facts did not happen. I don't understand how you can look at me and not want to accept the truth not just from me, from our entire family starting with our mother that witnessed his violent animal-like behavior for the 7 years they were married and from other people that knew him. This man blatantly did not lift a finger for his two children and has repeatedly said that he did not want us. He hated our mother and those that helped her and us escape his brutality. I have memories seeing him hit our mother and then turning his fists onto me.

When our mother divorced our father, in order for him not to pay a red cent in alimony and child support, he took the house, the business he owned, sold it all, relinquished his American citizenship, and then moved to the Dominican Republic; a rat-shit hole of a country.

From there, he never wanted nothing good for her nor us growing up as kids. The roof we had over our heads, the food we had on the table, and the clothes we wore on our backs and whatever else we needed was solely provided by our mother.

He never gave not one cent for any of it. Relatives have repeatedly told him of the mistake he was making against his children and the consequences of his actions. You what his response was? "Que se joden" which means we can all fuck ourselves. That came from his mouth. Imagine what that would feel if your son, my nephew was told that from his piece-a-shit useless birth father. Then again, actions speak louder than words.

You paid a heavy price for bringing a life into this world from a man that repeatedly showed you that he was irresponsible and had no desire to take care of his children from other women he helped conceive including your own.

When I was 14 years old, our father wrote a letter to our mother wanting to get together with her and then he traveled to the U.S. under the guise that he wanted to see us. Come to find out, he wanted me to come with him to the immigration office to help him reinstate his U.S. citizenship. I refused to help him. I never saw him again after that. Realizing that he had no hope with me, he turned his sights on then 11 year-old you. Our mother stepped in to protect you because you were only a little girl, you had no grasp of what he wanted and the fact that you really didn't know him at all. He then came to your elementary school looking for you. When school officials would not allow him to see you because they did not know who he was, he turned violent, so in turn police was called and he was arrested on the spot.

As it turned out, our father remained in the U.S. illegally for 5 years, from 1986 to 1991. Last I knew of him, he was living close to an area called Washington Park. He turned to a life of crime becoming a narcotics distributor and was arrested shortly thereafter. This was told to me in a newspaper clipping  by a neighbor across the street from where we lived and the year it happened was 1989. I can't even begin to imagine of the heartbreak it brought his family especially his mother. He was deported right after that.

I know one thing for sure, you were angry as hell, most likely very embarrassed actually, and you often took it out on our mother and me in our later years. You didn't want anyone to know that our father was a criminal. Me coming out and you calling me faggot  you ended up with a black eye and pushed down the stairs from me. After that, you got knocked up by that piece-a-shit not once but twice and isn't it ironic how he ended up in jail for drug trafficking and his shit family abandoned him LOL.

This is where the story gets murky : you told me that my nephew's birth father/sperm donor threatened you and my nephew while he was in prison then retracted it saying he didn't. I know he threatened you. You were smart not to tell right away.

You have spent the last 16 years raising my nephew alone without much help from anyone including our mother. While it's true that our mother did raise us, looking back, our childhood was not a very happy one. This woman was hateful. There was never a day where I didn't hear her tell me and later you how much she hated us and the fact that we came from the man she hated which was our father. There was never a day that she said how much resented what her life could have been and what it turned out because of us. Isn't it funny that once I moved out to escape that miserable existence living with her and you how she turned her back on me. She never helped me in any way shape or form. I found myself struggling to feed and house myself wondering when the next meal would come or how I would survive. When you gave birth to my nephew she kicked you out too soon after and if you ever needed help you would get every excuse in the book from her as not to lift a finger for you.

When the holidays came around, our mother knew how I was struggling as fuck, she would look at me asking me for money or asking for anything knowing damn well I had nothing to give. She wouldn't lift a finger for me. She wouldn't do it for you either. You told me she didn't. There were several times I was close to living out on the street and asked her for help and she refused. The last time being was when I moved back from Chicago and had nowhere to go and she turned me away yet again. That was 17 years ago. But this time, I decided to sever all ties with her. The pain of rejection once again by our mother was too great and I was not going to accept it anymore. I simply switched off and never saw her again. I didn't want her in my life. I didn't want her to know me nor anything about me.

By then, my man was in the picture and he and his family showed me what true love is and what being a family actually means. While my relationship has had its ups and downs, I am happy because I know he truly loves me and would walk through fire for me. Everything I have is because he gave me that chance and gave me hope. I love him and I would kill and die for him.

So here we are now baby sister. Our father dies, leaves no will, and a messy estate and us to deal with it. I'm not happy to be dragged into shit because this is opening old wounds again. You asked me to do this to help you because you are a single mother with a child so I reluctantly agreed first wanting my half but later changing my mind and leaving it all to you.
But what is pissing me off is the denial of who our father was coming from you. Your pretending that he was a good man is astounding to me. Then comes the denying that the decisions our father made 35 years ago do not have a direct impact on what is happening today when it very much does. And then you are not even truthful to our nephew about not only with family, but with his own father too.

You told me that our father tried to get us to meet with him so that our names would end up on his will. I say bullshit and here's why : the man was driven by utter greed. That should be evident to you by the fact that for 35 years he gave us nothing and never wanted to. He truly believed that he was going to die and take everything that belonged to him to his grave. If he truly wanted us to have his estate, he didn't need us physically in his presence there to name us in a will he could have drawn up. He had multiple bank accounts and had money in each of them. He never had any intention to leave us anything. If you believe otherwise, you are only lying to yourself.

So here I am now reaching out to family. With your help, I was able to reconnect on Facebook with relatives that I don't know and are talking to me as if they know who I am.

Our father's case was referred to a lawyer who is the brother of the wife of our cousin Elias who I honestly don't know and haven't spoken to in over 20+ years. What has me upset is how this was handed over to him, the lawyer is only dealing with you, and after repeated contact attempts with Elias' wife, she has not answered me back, nor has her husband, and this lawyer contacts you sporadically even after I tracked him down on Facebook wanting to know what is going on and I made it very clear to him that I don't want anything to do with our father's estate. I want to leave that all to you.

I'm very suspicious of this lawyer and how the lack of contact by him and his subsequent condescending attitude towards you and I, and the fact that I believe that upon learning of my withdrawing of any claims to our father's estate, he is trying to earn himself a bigger piece of the pie and thereby shutting you out. I want him fired. Here you are blindly listening to him trusting his words and allowing him to dictate to you how things should be. Let me remind you Alma : he works for us. We DO NOT work for him.

I am talking to a friend that is getting me in touch with a lawyer that will take our case. The Dominican Republic is a corrupt shit hole of a country and I don't like nor trust anyone that will not engage both of us. I want an American that represents our interests. You have a choice : work with me in getting this done or be like our father and end up spiting yourself. Think it over.

I forgave our parents for what they have done. But I refuse to gloss over, pretend, and forget that the past did not happen.

carta a mi hermanita:

Yo me negué a ayudarlo.

Preventing your child from becoming an atheist 101

Question : "What is the best way to stop your child becoming an atheist? I don't want any of my children to be punished by god?"

"Do not educate them, or expose them to critical thinking, logic or science.
Lie to them constantly about how the world works. Feed them a steady diet of mumbo jumbo dressed up like real knowledge – the jumbo jet in the whirlwind for example – and pretend that it is deep wisdom.
Make them loathe their own natural bodies and functions. Convince them they are small and weak and worthless and need redemption. Tell them everything enjoyable is grievously wrong to even think about, and that their only fun should be in grovelling to an invisible friend.
Ensure that they resent anyone who is not like them in every way – skin color, nationality, political opinion but especially creed. Make such people out to be evil and vile and give them – impotent minorities all – the fictional power to somehow oppress and persecute the vast majority who do think like you.
Teach them to laugh at and dismiss out of hand any faith but their own. Early – early mind you – make sure they are taught the difference between superstitious deadly error – that one raving lunatic in the desert told the truth about a vicious god who killed people, and divine eternal truth – that another raving lunatic in the desert told the truth about a vicious god who killed people.
Instruct them with all severity and import to never question for themselves – to never think for themselves – to never live for themselves – but to seek answers only in one – just one – particular set of semi-literate bronze age folk tales.
Above all – and this cannot be overemphasized – make sure they cannot spell, use correct grammar, or understand basic English words.
That should do the trick."

I fucking died laughing LOL.

It's time for the EQUAL RIGHTS AMENDMENT to be passed.

Thanks to people like Rush Limbaugh and his ever condescending rants on radio against anyone that is not rich, white and straight, our culture needs to change. But in order for that to happen, all women need to take charge, take a stand, and demand EQUAL RIGHTS. I think it's time for the ERA to be finally passed.

Thank You Marine Brandon Morgan and his partner Dalan Wells.

"MYSTERY SOLVED. Yesterday's viral photo sensation that seemed too-good-to-be-real turns out to be authentic. Thanks to some apparent detective work by Joe Jervis, we now know the returning Marine was Brandon Morgan, greeting his partner, Dalan Wells. He's written: "To everyone who has responded in a positive way, my partner and I want to say thank you. Dalan, the giant in the photo, can't believe how many shares and likes we have gotten on this. We didn't do this to get famous, or something like that. We did this cause after 3 deployments and four years knowing each other, we finally told each other how we felt. As for the haters, let em quote Kat Williams, everyone needs haters, so let them hate. We are the happiest we have ever been and as for the whole PDA and kissing slash hugging in was a homecoming. If the Sergeants Major, Captains, Majors, and Colonels around us didn't care...then why do you care what these random people have to say? In summation, thank you for your love and support. I received a lot of friend requests off this. I don't just accept requests so if your request was because of this post, message me and let me know. Goodnight all, and Semper Fi." Thank you for your service to our country, Sir, and to both of you for having the courage to live and love out loud."
